I quite like the new UK Supreme Court website<\/a>. But you would have thought it could have got its own name right.<\/p>\n

The Constitutional Reform Act says there is to be \u201ca Supreme Court of the United Kingdom\u201d. Later references are to \u201cthe Supreme Court\u201d \u2014 as in \u201cJustices of the Supreme Court\u201d or \u201cPresident of the Supreme Court\u201d.<\/p>\n

Court forms, reproduced by LexisNexis in a special issue of the Civil Court Practice 2009<\/em>, are all headed \u201cIn the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom\u201d. <\/p>\n

But the court\u2019s website insists on spelling \u201cthe\u201d with a capital t<\/em>. Thus, for example:<\/p>\n

As an appeal court, The Supreme Court cannot consider a case unless a relevant order has been made in a lower court.<\/p>\n

Almost all the proceedings of The Supreme Court will be filmed, and sometimes broadcast.
